As an added bonus, after the game, Avery was able to run the bases! It was such fun to see him on the field rounding 2d while giving Dinger the dino (Rockies Mascot) a high 5, then rounding 3d and touching home plate! This was the first time I've ever been on a MLB field, so it was cool for me too!
Here are some pics from the festivities today and I'm working on getting a clip of him running around for us to share on here soon. In the meantime, hope all are doing well and perhaps we may get Zoe by the time they hold this event again in September! Enjoy!
Here's a pic of us and the foul pole to our right...

At the top of the 8th, we went to the designated area to get into the baserunner's queue:
Getting on the field was even cool. We walked through the main level innards (where the locker rooms are) and walked to 1st via the warning track:
While waiting in the queue behind a ton of other kids, Beth snapped this on-field pic w/ the main scoreboard. Nice one sweetie!
Then the main event! Avery took his stance at the start to take 1st base:
Not long after, he was rounding 3d without slowing down!
Finally, he came home! The same plate that Matt Holliday 'touched' against the Padres to get them into the 2007 World Series (except it was clear that Avery actually did touch the plate!):
All in all, it was a great day for all of us. To top it off, I found off street meter parking a block from the park - and free on Sundays!! I had a ton of fun along with the family and can't wait to do it again with 2 baserunners!
For those that don't get motion sick, here's a video clip of the action. I'm not the steadiest of hands and my camera's stabilization stinks, but if you hang in there, you should be able to see some of the action! There's a new camcorder in my future...
Hope you enjoyed and take care...
